1. To those who Trust in the Lord

Those who live or (dwells) in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

First, the writer uses four different names for God and there is a significant about it

The Most High is the Hebrew word Elyon (The God Most High)

  • means a Supreme monarch, ruler, king, sovereign, majesty
  • one who is elevated about all things,
  • To those who trust the Most High have His protection

The Almighty, which is translated to Shaddai (God Almighty)

  • Means mighty, powerful God, who is strong beyond our imagination
  • Capable to supply our every need, a God who parted the sea and controls all creation

The Lord, this is the personal name of God (Yahweh, Jehovah) The Self-Existent One

  • In (Exodus 6:2) God revealed to Moses his name Yahweh, Jehovah
  • Then God spoke to Moses, “I am the Lord, I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them, but to Moses He talk to him face to face, God said “I AM THAT I AM” tell Pharaoh I have send you Moses
  • A relevant God who seeks for us to know Him on a deep, personal level thru our Lord Jesus Christ

My God, comes the Hebrew Elohim (The Creator)

  • The name first appears at the beginning of the Bible in (Genesis 1:1)
  • In the Scriptures, Elohim is translated God, in Greek it is as Theos and from there we get the word Theology
  • “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”
  • God is our creator, the Psalmist says, His way is higher than our ways yet we can speak to Him as friend

2. A Guarantee from the Lord

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
